Pursuant to Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (M.G.L. Chapter 131, Section 40), the Charlemont Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing to review a Notice of Intent on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 7 PM at the Charlemont Town Hall, 157 Main Street. The NOI is brought by the Massachusetts Electric Company regarding 1007G1 and 10019W1 Line Bear Swamp Feeder Conversion Project for Installation of 89 new utility poles, the replacement of 189 existing utility poles and the installation and/or replacement of overhead line. The project is located on the Road shoulder along S River Rd, Burrington Rd, Harris Mountain Rd, Mohawk Trail (State Rte 2) and Avery Brook Rd, an area subject to protection under the Wetlands Protection Act.
