Applications for personal exemption from real estate taxes are mailed out in December each year to those who received an exemption last year or to those who request one. Applications are due back to the Assessor’s by April 1st (3 months after the actual tax bills are mailed). Applications are also available in the Assessors Office or on the town website: http://www.charlemont-ma.us/Town/TownAssessors.shtml. Informational brochures on the types of personal exemptions available are on the table outside the Assessors office in the Town Hall corridor.

Annual applications for Chapter 61A & 61B must be postmarked or hand delivered by October 1 each year. Chapter 61applications are due postmarked or hand delivered by September 30. Applications are available in the Assessors Office or here on the town website. Or if you wish to be emailed your Chapter 61A or B application annually, fill out the authorization form and return to our office.
