Abutters list.
Abatement and exemption applications.
Applications for personal exemption from real estate taxes are mailed out
in December each year to those who received an exemption last year or to those
who request one. Applications are due back to the Assessor’s by April 1st (3
months after the actual tax bills are mailed). Applications are also available
in the Assessors Office or on the town website: http://www.charlemont-ma.us/Town/TownAssessors.shtml.
Informational brochures on the types of personal exemptions available are on
the table outside the Assessors office in the Town Hall corridor.
Annual applications for Chapter 61 (Forest land), 61A (agricultural/
horticultural land) and Chapter 61B (recreational land) are mailed out in
August of each year. Completed applications for Chapter 61 must be postmarked
or hand delivered by September 30 and completed applications for 61A and 61B
must be postmarked or hand delivered by October 1. Applications are also
available in the Assessors Office or on the town website: http://www.charlemont-ma.us/Town/TownAssessors.shtml.
