Charlemont Houses Recognized as Significant in Underground Railroad 

Two Charlemont Houses were recognized by the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom project. The Hart and Mary Leavitt House and the Roger Hooker and Keziah Leavitt House were evaluated as "making a significant contribution to the understanding of the Underground Railroad in American History and meets the requirements for inclusion in the National Underground Network to Freedom."
